marnie stern on pitchfork.tv's daytripper

and don't forget to check out marnie in krs mailorder

it's new release day!

if you're headed to the record store, pick up these...

horse feathers "house with no home"

shaky hands "lunglight"

or you can just get them from our mailorder dept...

if you're going the mailorder route, tobi got some distributed items in that i'd like to recommend... one is this band (well actually it's one woman) called us girls, that i saw last night at valentines. it's kind of crazy distorted beats w/ some weird vocals. pretty fun stuff. covers of bruce springstein, dave clark 5 and some originals too... another is the mars discography cd. it seems like this gets reissued every few years. i've seen pressings from atavastic, important records, etc. but there is a reason for it- it's really good. easily my favorite of all those no wave bands... also the extreme animals cd looks cool. i haven't heard it yet, but i have one of their records and listen to it quite a bit...

new elliott smith stuff in our mailorder dept!

we got some new stuff in stock for all you mailorder freaks out there!

elliott smith "xo" lp reissue

and

elliott smith "figure 8" lp reissue

i guess this is the first time these have been on vinyl for like 6-7-8 years? a long time.

tobi added some 7"s in mailorder

that look pretty cool...
check them out!

erase errata alphabet series U

numbers alphabet series w

robedoor/yellow swans split 7"

inca ore/axolotl split 7"

shearing pinx/ silver daggers split 7"
i've only heard the erase errata and inca ore/axolotol split 7"s but they were both pretty killer! the erase errata one has a captain beefheart cover (ooh boy!) and the inca ore/axolotol one has some droned out/stoned vibe going on that's pretty nice...
i think silver daggers has a member of mika miko in it? maybe i'm wrong... sometimes you need a score card to keep track of who is in what band, you know?
