I don't know why we care whether or not they're on speed. The Creation, Love, The Ramones and the Undertones? Speed tends not to lead to precise perfection. Which all of these bands embodied. On the other hand, The Creation were famous pill heads. Dee Dee was a junkie. The boys from Derry might have used a little help from their friends. Poor Bryan MacLean tore himself up with drugs. But what's the point?
