Japan Part 2

okay so I neglected to mention several very important things. one of which is pocari sweat. this is the most delicious gatorade type drink I have ever had. it was easily the most delicious of all the dozens of different kind of beverages we tried from the vending machines.

I am so so so sad there's no green tea in bottles here. I would drink that every day if I could.

charlie figures we spent like $40 on vending machines. I don't think that's an exaggeration.

yum!!!!

BUDDY WAS ADOPTED!!!

the krs portland office's favorite dog (that doesn't live with any of us) was adopted today!
time to celebrate!!!!!

JAPAN

Portia and I just got back from Japan where we had the best time ever! P-Vine (our exclusive label partner over there) put on a Kill Rock Stars showcase in Tokyo with Deerhoof, Xiu Xiu, Mika Miko, and Panther. All the bands played amazing sets and the crowd seemed so excited. We all had a few days off in Tokyo and it was a blast to hang out and wander around. We went to Harajuku and saw the crazy rockabilly dancers: and went to a Bangladesh festival, wandered around so many amazing Blade Runner type alleys, ate amazing food (ume rice balls were my favorite), and got to meet some of the nicest and most generous people around. Thanks so much to Koki, Hiro, Aya, Hama, Masa, Kana, Monica, etc for treating us and our bands so well. I really felt like the luckiest person in the world to be working with so many great people. Oh and here's another weird thing - it seems Caralee and I are twins and never noticed it. Here's the proof:

Weird right? It's our German and Scottish blood I guess.

i made a comic book

it's online as a pdf file of you want to download it. hope you like yousendit!

Racoon vs Cat

A new mommy racoon has been hanging out in our yard the last few days, eating catfood, now she wants in, and the cat ( Zeban ) is pissed. Zeban has attacked the new mom twice tonight, but she won't leave. Not sure what to do about this one....

we went to christopher's gourmet grill for lunch

SO DELICIOUS!

i got the bacon cheeseburger.
gotta say that right now this is my favorite burger in town- reasonalbly sized patty, shredded lettuce, nice chunks of tomato, good sauces, and they get the bacon just right. not too chewy and not burnt. normally i don't like the steak cut fries, but they season these guys just right!
the only weird thing about today's trip there was the music. normally they are playing r&b but today they played a recording of some dude covering "more than words" by extreme. sucks to be that person!
another thing that changed is that they now have a burger basket deal, where you can get a 20oz soda and fries for a little bit more. not sure why they needed that as the prices were already good ($4.50 for a bacon cheeseburger,) but i'm not complaining!
